Who We Are

ITA Airways is Italy's leading airline. Owned 59% by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and 41% by Deutsche Lufthansa AG, it operates passenger and cargo air transport services. The airline provides Italy with high-quality connectivity to international destinations—supporting tourism and foreign trade—as well as within the country, by leveraging integrated mobility.

Through the strong digitalization of its processes, which ensures the best possible experience and personalized services, the Company places customer service and sustainability at the center of its strategy. This commitment is reflected in its environmental focus (a young, technologically advanced fleet to reduce environmental impact), social responsibility (care for its people and the communities in which it operates), and governance (the integration of sustainability into internal strategies and processes).

ITA Airways operates a uniform fleet of 99 aircraft (22 wide-body and 77 narrow-body), over 60% of which are new-generation models. This optimizes efficiency and quality through cutting-edge technologies and onboard Wi-Fi. By the end of the 2023–27 Strategic Plan, the airline aims for 90% of its fleet to consist of new-generation aircraft, helping it become Europe’s youngest carrier while reducing fuel consumption and the resulting CO₂ emissions by 20% to 25%.
